After leaving school in 1976 and deciding that butchery was not for me, I joined GKN Kwikform as a Trainee Scaffolder and met Bryan & Alan (the B&A) in our organisation. I’m now up to 39 years in the industry!

From progressing with GKN for 19 years, I’ve been going through the ranks from Basic, Advanced, Chargehand Scaffolder to Estimator/Supervisor. I was a Contract Site Manager on BP chemicals Saltend, where I attended various Health & Safety / Supervisory Management courses, some petrochemical related and I joined B&A Scaffolding in November 1996.

From starting up & growing a successful new depot in York to the present, my main responsibilities are business generating, surveying, estimating and health & safety. I hold a N.E.B.O.S.H qualification and now in my 20th year here at B&A. Outside of work I am a very keen Hull City supporter, enjoy being a grandad, going to the cinema, eating out and trying to keep fit swimming & getting out on my road bike.
